Spectacle frames
Types of Spectacle frames:
Spectacle frame materials fall into 2 main categories; Alloy Metal (Titanium, Stainless steel, Monel, Alluminum etc.) and Plastic. We have a wide range of frames for your selection, brands that we carry include Mont Blac, Rayban, IDEE, Guess etc.
Plastic vs.Alloy Metal frames
Plastic and metal frames both have different looks and price points. Plastic frames can break more easily than metal ones. Aging and exposure to the sun also decrease the strength of plastic frames. Metal frames are more resistant to corrosion. Plastic frames often come in more varieties & colors.

General guidelines on frame selection:
Choose a frame in proportion to your face.
Choose a frame that contrasts with your face shape i.e. if your face is round considered frames that have square angles.
A larger face: Consider balancing your features with a slightly oversize frame
To lengthen your face: consider selecting mid to high temples, and frames with little or no color on the bottom rim.
To shorten your face: consider mid to low temples, and narrower frames
To lengthen your nose: consider a high nose bridge that is clear or light coloured. Avoid solid colour bridges.
To shorten your nose: consider a low nose bridge in a solid colour. Avoid clear nose bridges
To lengthen a wider nose: Use a clear or metal nose bridge that sits close to the nose, use nose pads.
A small face: Use thin metals and lightweight frames.
Tips for spectacle care
Your spectacles need to be clean and scratch free. Handle the lenses and the frame with care.
Always rinse your glasses off with water before wiping or cleaning them. Even tiny particles of dust or dirt can settle on your lens, and if you wipe those around on a dry lens, it can be abrasive.
If your spectacles are with anti-reflection coating, do not clean them with a detergent or water, as they affect the coating
It is normal that you feel slightly uncomfortable in the first few days of wearing the new spectacles. You will alright in due course of time. But if your discomfort stays beyond 2 weeks, please do contact us.
Hold your frames by gripping the piece that crosses the bridge of the nose. This will keep you from accidentally bending the frame while you clean.
Do not use paper towels, tissue, or napkins to dry your lenses. All these materials, regardless of how soft they are, have a textured surface and can easily scratch your lenses.
Use sprays or cleansers that are specifically made to clean eyeglass lenses.
